I Need a laptop for school that has great internet speed and decent features. Also something that will run really smooth. I want something that I dont have to regret buying 9 moths later. Any suggestions? (Spend up to $800-900 if needed)

Your best bet is a new computer, refurbished is an option most professionals would not recommend for their family and friends.

You need to focus on reliability first and usability 2nd.

I found searching http://www.amazon.com/ for the laptop reveals how many users rated the computer (popularity) and how the users rate the computer (reliability+usability), I suggest you do the same as even the best of the best sometimes make mistakes (except Lenovo-but they cost a fortune) this way you will know you are not getting a dud and have a solid picture of what to expect.

How to reformat my emachine t6534, the program to create the restore cd will not work

I need to reformat my computer and the emachine makes you create your own recovery cd (kinda dumb coulda jus came with one) anyway, i go to try to create the dvd for doing recovery and i get the message "device not ready" and then it aborts. i called emachines only to find out that my warranty has expired and they dont give tech support if you dont have one. I'm a college kid and i cant afford to buy another warranty especially after spending 1200 dollars on the damn thing already. gateway charges to help you, or i pay 20 dollars in shipping for a recovery disk. i figure someone out in this wonderful information super highway knows how to do what the tech guys would tell me to do, or what best buy would charge me an apparent 150 dollars for. please help

just use a xp cd to format the hard drive and reinstall windows then go to www.emachines.com and download all the drivers you need for your laptop
