Miss Olivi

I have an awesome backpack that I've had for 10 years but it's bright pink. What types of bags do grad students usually carry? I don't really care for laptop bags or messengers bags. I'd prefer a backpack, but want to look professional as well.

Answer
Grad students carry whatever works for them, and that frequently involves keeping things that maybe they wouldn't buy now but that don't really need to be replaced, because many grad students are trying not to spend too much money. Keep the pink backpack. If, at some point down the road, you decide that you'd rather not be carrying a bright pink backpack, you can replace it with exactly what you'd rather carry instead of what you think now you might want to carry at some point in the future. Otherwise, save your money so that when you get started on your job search you can buy a new backpack that looks professional and is likely to last you awhile.

Best laptop bag to use as a backpack and a briefcase?

I have a large 17" laptop that I have to carry around with me everywhere I go. I also need a bunch of big books in the bag. I need some kind of a rolling backpack that looks elegant enough for a power-suit-wearing professional and large enough for a college student to lug the laptop plus textbooks.

I have a Targus 17" laptop backpack which doesn't look professional enough and a Targus rolling case which is professional enough but doesn't fit much more than the laptop itself; I need something that blends the best of both.

Any ideas?

Answer
You can opt for one that has both rolling and can be used as a backpack. You can play with style and color to make it look professional but functional for you too. You can try Victorinox brand or perhaps Delsey or Tumi. They Might have the style and functionality you are looking for.

My daughter will be going to WVU for Pharmacy school in The Fall of 2012. I was just wondering if this would be a nice gift for her for her birthday this month? I would really appreciate it. thanks.

Answer
I just bought a Dell 15R for $499 off Dells website. It is an Intel Core I3 processor over the one in the Hp. Everything else is the same except for the hard drive size. Believe my hard drive is 350 gig. Plenty for me and I am a professional computer user and have lots on my hard drive. Case is plain and black but do you want to pay for that pretty looking useless case or do you want a better productive computer?

Can someone help me find a good gaming laptop between $1000 and $2000?

Eli Lawd

I am looking for something rather specific, so I will just list as much information as I can.

The first thing is that I don't want it to be blatantly designed as a computer meant specifically for gaming and no other purpose. There are several reasons for this, most of them stemming from it being a college computer. First, I don't think my parents would be very happy with me getting a "Samsung Series 7 Gamer," or something similarly named. Second, it has to be able to reasonably accommodate practical things such as word processing, video editing, multimedia, and programming applications as I intend to major in computer science and be doing a lot of things along those lines. Therefore I also donât want it to be very flashy like some gaming computers are, and have a lot of features strictly for gaming such as red-glowing WASD keys.

Obviously, a "gaming laptop" is a bit silly because everyone knows that if you want to game you need a desktop. That said, I don't plan on spending too much time gaming, because, like I said, I'm going to be in college. Also, I can't exactly take a desktop to my classes, or anywhere else I want to study. So yes, it has to be a gaming laptop.

I don't want to do any computer building or modifying- I don't plan on making my own from scratch, and I donât plan on modifying it after I buy it. So I need to have exactly what I want straight out of the box. I donât really know how to, and I donât have the time to teach myself how.

Now let's talk about more performance based things. I am not really too worried about battery life, because I just don't see why someone wouldn't buy a perfectly good computer just because it can't run without a plug for 6 hours on end.honestly, 2-3 hours is just fine for me.

In terms of how powerful it is, I would be perfectly happy to be able to run any AAA game released in 2012 on medium graphics with 40 FPS. However, I want something that is going to be able to last me for a good 4 years at the minimum.

More specifically, I want something along these lines:
Processor: Something at least on par with Intel i5, hopefully something nicer but again I donât want to pay $3500... quad core would be nice, but duo is fine, I donât know too much about the Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge stuff so I canât comment. It doesnât have to be Intel, something equivalent will do, but I prefer Intel for my processors.

Memory: I would like a laptop with 16 GB RAM, but as long as it has at least GB itâs fine.

Hard Drive: Honestly I donât care too much about this. Do I need 2 TB of hard drive space? No, but it would be nice. My last desktop was I believe a Dell XPS 630 with 1 TB of space in 2007, and it lasted me 5 years and I donât think I used half of it. So 1-2 TB is fine, I donât need to go overboard though if it ups the price.

Video Memory: Not too picky here but at least 1000 MB RAM would be good

Graphics/Video Card: I donât think I can settle for anything less than a high end nVidia GeForce because letâs be honest itâs the gold standard for gaming at the moment.

Optical Drive: These seem to be a lot less common on new laptops nowadays, so if it has one, great, but if not, it wonât be a dealbreaker.

Fans: I know some people are picky about loud fans, but personally I could care less. Just as long as it doesnât burst into flames Iâm fine.

OS: I canât decide between W7 and W8. I have heard that W8 is not so good for gaming, but I have also heard that people who say that are just uninformed. And I know that W8 has many ups and downs but for the most part the good outweighs the bad. So I would like to hear some more opinions.

For price range, anything between $1000-$2000 is fine. I think something closest to about $1500 would be best, but if the perfect computer happens to be $1950 thatâs no big deal. On the other hand, just because something is only $1200 doesnât mean itâs bad.

One final note is that I would like it to be built within the past year, though I assume that's a given.

I have looked through a lot of PC review guides online and have not yet been able to find what I'm looking for, so I figured that someone on this site might be able to provide me with some assistance.

So can anyone help me out? Thanks!
Just for those who are "Windows 7 is so much better Windows 8 is just for tablets" I assume that you also know that future versions of DirectX will not include Windows 7 support... however I don't know how much of an issue that is.

Answer

How do I find out which laptop is best for me to buy?

Chicklet

I am a college student, however will graduate in a years time and will be be in medical research. I don't even know where to begin to know which laptop is best for me to buy. How do you know which ones is best for your needs?

Answer
It all depends on what its going to be used for. If you are going to run lots of programs you are going to need something with a fair amount of RAM which is simply a temporary storage for programs files. Most PCs will need now at least 512Mb to 1GB but if running vista the new operating system from windows you will need more than 1GB. If you are going to stare lots of files you will need a fairly decent hard drive probably 100GB+ plus if you are doing any downloading/lots of music etc but if you only need it for a few files 80GB will be good. Also speed of the computer is dependent on the CPU the main operating part of your PC. Most PCs ow will come with duel core and that's my best recommendation however anything ore you will need quad core but maybe a bit excessive unless you will be gaming. I think the first 2 of these will be pretty suited to your needs. Hope this helped

Im a new college student and i need a nrw good laptop. I need one tht is fast and one that can store alot of stuff. Im looking to spend around 300-400 on one. I dont want a used one. It must b new. I need some suggestions on wat brand wat to look for and where to find one. Your help is appreciated.

Answer
I'd say check bestbuy.com. They always have bundles and deals. Over december 2012, I got a dell laptop bundle for just $380!
It came with:
Laptop
Carrying Sleeve
1-year Micro Trend Anti-Virus
2-Year BestBuy Warranty
Logitech Portable USB Wireless Mouse
8GB PNY Flash Drive
*Sure the laptop doesn't look or feel amazing, but it gets work done. It powers with a 2.0GHz Dual-Core Intel Celeron CPU, 3GB Ram, and a 250HD. It has a mic and webcam built in, and the keyboard is kinda like the macbook except the keys are more rounded a bit. It came with Windows 8 (not pro) but it's enough. Anyway's I'd say check either bestbuy.com or your local store as I didn't now about the Dell Deal untill I walked in the store. (: I'm sure you can find a decent one online for $300.

What is the best laptop brand that doesn't break so fast? What brand do you have?

~Paradox~

I currently have an Acer laptop, because it's affordable and works just as well as any other laptop. However, it breaks SO easily. Like in the course of about a year my laptop is already falling apart. :(

The hinges on my current laptop have cracks going down them. I don't even get how that came to be. I'm not opening my computer screen Hulk style. It's just the way these computers break that's frustrating, because I can't fix these kind of problem.

This isn't the first time either!! I've had an MSI laptop in the past and an Acer and they break so easily that it's almost not worth buying these brands anymore. I'm also not a fan of the mac computers by apple...

Anyhow, I'm currently a college student. So having a laptop is crucial! What's a good laptop brand that last more than just a year or two?

Thanks for answering! (:

Answer
My first laptop was a Acer. What you are experiencing is also the reason I stopped using mine and had to buy another laptop. I ended up duct taping the cracks until I could afford another laptop.

My mom has a Acer laptop that does not have a latch that holds the screen to the rest of the computer and she has never had this problem. So if you could find a Acer without a lock on the screen, you may not face this problem with an Acer in the future.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L755. It does not have a lock the computer screen. The computer I have was around $550 when I purched it in April of 2012. The only problems I have had with this computer is that it will not play old games. I have not had any problems with the new games.

I have started saving up my money for a laptop for college but I don't know what I want. I'm going into either architecture, or civil engineering so I would like it to be able to run the AutoCAD/Autodesk software without any trouble at all . Please don't tell me what specs I want because I have a pretty good idea of what I will need, plus I can barely understand them anyway. I just want to know what type, brand, or model of laptop would be best for me. I would like to spend somewhere between $1000-$1200. However, I would be more than willing to move around on that if it means getting a better, longer lasting laptop.

Answer
You have good enough budget to have a good laptop. As you are an engineering student so I would recommend Macbook Pro to you. It has good features and also it performs really well for the engineering students as one of an actual user says that it does the tasks of an engineering student without any problems. Here is a complete comment for your help:

http://www.amazon.com/review/RTL32IH4Y37MP/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B007470SMM&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=hawmekm-20

Also it has good features but I wont mentioned them as you don't want us to tell. But definitely it is one good option for students like you with the price of around $1000. On the other hand you can look into market for other options as well. For your ease here is a list of laptops which are under $1200 and also popular ones:

What is the most reliable laptop for a college student?

Air

I need one that is ultra-portable, but still very efficient. I looked into the MacBook..I have read excellent reviews, but some not-so-great ones as well.

Answer
I would suggest HP/ Compaq or a Sony Viao over a Dell brand computer any day of the week. They are more reliable and you could buy parts to repair it/upgrade it right off the shelf. Where as Dell you can not just buy a part of the shelf the parts for Dell computers usually are quite expensive and only available through Dell.

What type of computer should I have for college if I'm studying electrical engineering?

best laptop for college electrical engineering image

Dylan

I am heading to college and am going to be studying electrical engineering. The computer I currently have is outdated so I need a new one for college. What type of computer is best to handle the coursework for electrical engineering?

Answer
I suggest getting a decent laptop (at least dual core with 4Gb ram and 256Mb+ onboard video), make sure it's not too flashy looking since you are going to college and theft can be a problem in some. I also suggest getting an external hdd for at home so you can backup your work nightly in case something were to happen like damage or theft, that way you don't fall behind if something were to happen.

Make sure the onboard video is at least 256Mb because you will likely have to use some sort of CAD like program to make schematics as a project. Windows 7 with 4Gb ram or Vista with 6 to 8 Gb ram should be sufficient to run anything they have as part of the course. Maybe check with the college when you start to see if they have laptops that you can buy with sufficient working capabilities for your course, in some cases they may have discount prices for students. You usualy have the first week of class to get all the gear and supplies requiered, so shop around and compare prices....

I am now a architecture student and am looking to buy a new laptop for school. This biggest issue is whether to get a mac or a pc. And if i were to get a pc any brand i should be looking towards? Also i would like details on ram, video cards, processors those type of details. Price is not an issue because i have been saving quite a bit of money for a new lap top for sometime. Please help me
thanks

Answer
Go with your school's specifications. They may even ask you to purchase the computer (and the accompanying software) from a company of their choosing.

Most architecture students use PCs (AutoCAD has not yet been released on a MAC). If you will be doing heavy 3d rendering, drafting, and processing, you will want decent processing power, a really good graphics card, and plenty of memory. Most students rely on a desktop for their rendering needs in studio, but also have a laptop to so they can work at home, play music, or work on other things while the desktop is processing a rendering.

Good luck! Check with your school first!!

I just started my 2nd semester at UCLA and still don't own a laptop. What do you think is the best laptop for a college student and why? PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY THOUGH!! :)

FYI:
I have about $2,000 in student aid money left so choosing wouldn't be a problem. I just don't know if I should waste a lot of that money on a laptop....

Answer
If you have certain classes that require a certain type of computer then you need to think about that like if you are taking photo or architecture classes.

Otherwise I would say you need one with a sturdy casing. You need one that has decent batter life. Wireless of course. I would get one with an HDMI port so you can stream movies or TV shows and project it on your TV if you want. You will want a webcam and mic for skyping.

You are going to need a decent processor core not amd and for sure you need Microsoft student for the word processor and power point.

I need a new laptop but am a bit overwhelmed by all of the options. I don't have a great budget (around $500), and am wondering what a good laptop is for a college student, with a decent processor size and speed, etc. I don't need anything amazing, just something good - for writing papers, getting online, listening to music, watching videos, etc. Any suggestions?

Answer
My advice is to inquire at the particular college. They usually have "minimum requirements - recommendations" to ensure compatibility with their network. I suspect that the basic models, which are far more robust than the machines made a few years ago, will suffice.

Hi. I was thinking of buying a mac laptop for college soon.

Can anyone recommend a good mac laptop that's not too expensive and suitable for a college student.
Mac only please. I'd really appreciate it.

Answer
Hi.

I am very sorry to say, there is no such thing as a "not too expensive" Mac because all Macs are expensive.

However, for a college student. I believe that any of the Macbooks are suitable.
the Macbook is only at $1000.
The Macbook Pro starting at $1200.
And the Macbook Air starts at $1500.

The Macbook Air is for portability while being able to enjoy great performance. Macbook Air only weighing 3 lbs with a 13.3" screen.

The Macbook Pro, for the better performance. Not quite sure if it beats the Macbook Air.

The Macbook, the ordinary Mac laptop out, the most original.

but what do i need in a laptop? CPU? RAM? I'm not familiar with any of these terms..:/

thanks for your help!

Answer
For CS5, the best thing technically is just to check out the system requirements for each/all the products you would like to run, and then get a laptop that matches at least the minimum of those, for either Windows or Mac. Two of the most important things are graphics card and memory.

What would the best laptop choice be for a photography student at the Art Institute of Philadelphia?

franchkins

I'm starting classes at the Art Instutute of Philadelphia in less than week and I have yet to buy a laptop. Not too smart, I know. But I was just wondering if anybody had gone there or to any of the Art Institutes for photography. I'm not sure if I should get a mac or if I would be ok with a pc, probably dell. I totally appreciate any input!

Answer
Well, the Art Institutes use Mac - All of them. Me, I prefer PC but as a Linux user, both suck in different ways. Contrary to popular belief among "artists", Mac isn't all it's cracked up to be, and there is nothing about Mac that makes it more suited to art or artists.

http://www.mac-sucks.com/switch_why.php

To answer your question, get a laptop that has the features suited to 2D and 3D graphics. I use a Lenovo ideapad y510 w/ 4GB of RAM, an intel core2 duo processor with the nvidia GeForce 8600M graphics card (way better than the intel graphics card), running vista home premium. It's not top shelf, but it works well and cost me just under $1,000. It has enough memory allocation to allow me to manipulate several images at the same time in photoshop CS3 - which is about all I care about.

Since AI uses Mac, most of their instruction will apply to Mac, especially for keyboard shortcuts. The issues with differences wouldn't bother me as I have grown accustomed to how to get around photoshop using PC and corresponding functionality through Mac. I'm just not going to go out of my way to switch to Mac because the school I go to uses it when I know how to work with my PC just fine. I don't think it'd be that big a deal though, to be honest. Instructors often give instruction mentioning both PC and Mac functions. The most important part is, get a laptop which works best for you.

AGAIN, there is NOTHING that makes Mac more suited to artists or photographers. Seriously. Don't fall for that nonsense. Cameras and computers are tools. If you can't get around a computer unless it's a Mac, I doubt you're a very good photographer or artist. Sorry, I felt the need to add this because of all the, "yeah definitely Mac because it's for artists" answers. Jesus.

What store or website to where I can purchase low price laptops?

who makes the best laptops for college on both Transformers and Star Wars versions of these learining laptops ...

Big Boss

I need laptops for college and I don' t know where to purchase one.

Answer
If you are looking for the least expensive laptop, newegg.com is a good place. If you have a specific laptop in mind, I would suggest using a price comparison website, like shopzilla.com or pricegrabber.com to compare prices at stores. Remember that shipping may or may not be included. Acer is making some inexpensive laptops, so you might try searching for that brand.

What would be better and last longer, a dell or hp laptop?

Terrell

At a crossroad on if I should order a dell or hp.
If it makes a difference I will be using the laptop for college and gaming (not hardcore gaming) so no alienware suggestions please.

Answer
In my opinion, Dell for sure. I have had nothing but bad luck with HPs. They all overheat all the time and they, in my opinion are slower, probably because they stay hot.

I would like to have a laptop which is user friendly. I want it to have a cd burner, usb connection and the place where you could insert the memory card. I would also want it to have ample memory and a rapid speed. Moreover, I would basically be using it for internet surfing, downloading and uploading, storing my documents for college, keeping my pictures and mp3 songs and the like. Im not addicted to gaming and editting pics is not one of my interest. But the my interest on the latter is possible. I also prefer Windows.

Answer
in my opinion, any laptop for you would work really nice, because your demands aren't quite much, and that may help a lot in saving your budget. First of all, most laptops nowadays provide you with a cd burner, so that's not a problem. Secondly, your demand for a usb port is not a problem at all, for every laptops have that (it's just on of the must-haves). As for your ample memory needs, is 60GB enough, for that is the minimum that laptops usually give you now. Also, if you're not much into graphics and games, you don't need to worry your head off with a graphics card, intel's Graphics Media Accelerator would be enough. The problem with your question is what do you mean by "rapid speed". A computer's speed depends mostly on the processor and the RAM. I recommend the Intel Core 2 Duo, or if you don't like Intel, you could take the AMD Turion 64 X2. These processors are fast and are nice to have, for they are still quite new, and is quite satisfactory in future proofing. As for RAM, i recommend 1GB or more, because the new Windows Vista recommends a 1GB RAM for a fast experience. Another thing that you should consider is how large do you want the screen to be. The screens vary from 10.6 inches diagonally to even 19 inches or more.

Which is the best laptop for a student starting college in 2012?

Ahmed Bila

My budget is from 500-750 USD. I am NOT going to use it for gaming. Primary use is watching movies, using a couple of softwares, facebook, youtube, music etc... And I have a dell inspiron i3 right now and when i open multiple tabs, it slows down pathetically so please also keep that factor in mind.

Answer

Should I upgrade from CS3 Design Suite to CS5 Master Suite?

best laptop for graphic design student 2012

best laptop for graphic design student 2012 image

Andrew

So, a few things:

⢠I am a junior in college studying Graphic Design, but I also work in web design, photography. I am on my computer about 6-7 hours a day minimum working.
⢠I have a 2008 MacBook Pro 15" w/4GB RAM and 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
⢠I currently own the CS3 Design Suite Premium. I have Photoshop Illustrator, and Dreamweaver open on my computer about 90% of the time. I use InDesign a lot, but not incessantly. I also need Flash, but I avoid using it when possible.

I can get CS5 Master Suite for $600 from my schools software discount. I know that I probably won't be able to do much video production on a laptop, but the CS5 Design Suite Premium is like $350 and I'd rather pay an extra $150 for the entire suite.

Lastly, I will be 100% purchasing a new Mac in March of 2012. I was going to hold out to buy that, and hopefully CS6 would be out by then. I'm a sucker for buying new software though, and I'm thinking leapfrogging two Creative Suite's might not be a great idea. Should I hold out or jump to the new stuff?

Answer
Since you're a student, you're already making an investment in your knowledge and future and shouldn't be using/learning 3-year-old software, right?

Also since you're a student, you can get this software for prices that the rest of us only dream about...

If you have any doubts, just download the free trial of CS5 Master Collection. I doubt you will want to go back

Grammer lords I need your help.?

Boweezie10

I have typed an essay for a school I may be going to for 2013-2014 on my school's laptop using word and I spell checked and grammar checked and sent it to my mom first. She helped me revise and saw things that word did not correct and now she wants me to show my english teacher but I don't want to show my english teacher because it sounds like i'm dissing the school a bit and I don't want the teacher spreading word that I don't like the school. (I really don't much) So if you would read this nice and emotional 5 paragraph essay about why I want to become a graphic designer then see if it needs further revisions and show me what needs to be corrected I will be much obliged.

I want to be a graphic designer because of the joy other graphic designers
give me. I grew up watching cartoons most of my afternoons and I enjoyed them
like any kid would. I started drawing during random times of the day and I showed
them to people and of course they said they liked it. I drew pictures of my favorite
cartoons and of things I saw and just thought of. This sums up my life until the
eighth grade.

My mom discovered the middle school Greiner which is an Exploratory Arts
Academy. For the first time I had to audition to be in the school so I presented some
drawings I had done and the judges were delighted to see them. I was accepted
to Greiner; I was glad to have left my old school full of troublemakers and be in a
new school of artistic minds. The eighth grade was the best year of my life. I met
the two most brilliant kids I will ever meet and we became artistic buddies. There
I sharpened my drawing skills, discovered a talent for drawing realistic features,
and so much more. There I had become better in one aspect of being an animator/
graphic designer, which is being able to design things in multiple medias, but I want
to be an animator, so Iâd have to take animation classes and get my drawings on
computers.

I had little knowledge of creating and editing visuals on computers because the
computer that I currently own is too slow to run most programs. Also, the schools
that I had gone to didât have computer classes that taught anything besides how
to use the Photoshop program and other things that had little relevance to what I
wanted. At the end of the eighth grade year, a disappointing mishap kept me from
getting into the school of Booker T. Washington, so I ended up going to the school
A. Maceo Smith New Tech High. The schoolâs principle came to Greiner to recruit
students for the 9th grade and I was told by the principle of 2011-2012 that there
would be animation classes held at the school. I was hyped up by his presentation
and to my disappointment there were no animation classes. Again I was told there
would be animation classes next year for the 10th graders. The next year came
and still no animation classes. Iâve felt my want to draw die some ever since I left
Greiner. I wish Greiner continued through the 12th grade but it was time to move on.
So now I want to move on to Skyline and revive my want to create visuals that will
toy with otherâs emotions.

My real purpose for wanting to animate is because I love cartoons, anime, stop
motion, flip book, and other visual medias so much. I love that they entertain people
after a long days work or just when people are bored. I love that they keep people
distracted and happy. I want to make people distracted, happy, and possibly choke
their selves with laughter. I want to contribute my life to entertaining people
through my artistic and original moving visual art. I know that Skyline will help me
accomplish this dream.
Yeah I keep forgetting that it's grammar. I didn't type their selves word spell checked it. The application has graphic design or audio visual technology for me to choose between so I was informed that the closest to animation is graphic design and when I went to the school for a tour I was told i'd be making cartoons and stuff, I did tell my mom I want to be an animator and not a graphic designer but she says it's the same thing, apparently not.

Answer
the word is "grammar". There is no such word as "their selves". The word is "themselves".

You are confusing the term "graphic design" with animation. The two are related, but not the same at all.

Not all graphic designers use animation, although animation is certainly included within the scope of graphic design - it's not really correct to refer to an animator as a graphic designer. Animation has more in common with illustration, and increasingly in the world of modern animation, animators are making extensive use of 3D modelling and animation software.

i need a laptop for college, and although i'm not going to be an art major, i'm planning on using adobe photoshop, illustrator, and other art programs on my laptop. I would get a mac, but my dad already got me the cs5 program for windows. I was thinking a sony is good?

but what do i need in a laptop? CPU? RAM? I'm not familiar with any of these terms..:/

my budget is 1000-1300.
thanks for your help!

Answer
For CS5, the best thing technically is just to check out the system requirements for each/all the products you would like to run, and then get a laptop that matches at least the minimum of those, for either Windows or Mac. Two of the most important things are graphics card and memory.

What kind of laptop should I get for college?

christine

What are some things i would want in a laptop for college? And what kinds of laptops are best (Macs or PCs) for what i need? I am considering graphic design and fashion design as majors, but I will also be taking liberal arts classes. I also want to use the laptop for things like internet, typing, music, pictures, and the usual. Any advice/suggestions?

Answer
If you are going into graphic/fashion design, you will need / want a laptop with upgraded graphics and processing power. You will likely also want a monitor with high resolution. I'd look for a laptop with:

a discrete graphics card (not Intel HD built-in graphics);
an Intel i5 or i7, or AMD A8 processor (quad core is better!); and
At least 4GB of DDR3 RAM;
laptop screen resolution higher than the standard 1366x768, like 1600x900.

Many laptops fit these criteria; your budget and taste will determine which is right for you!
A few examples (links below): Dell XPS , Asus G73 series, Lenovo ThinkPad T520 or Ideapad Y series.
