What is a Cheap but good Laptop for a college student?

A price under $700 is what im really looking for. Not something really too expensive but then again nothing so cheap as to not last me a couple years or so.

i was planning on buying a laptop when i start college in january and was wondering what kind of laptop should i get.. i really don't want to pay alot of money for it price range under $700 is what im looking for

I was going to say the Mac Powerbook, until I saw your price range. One thing the Mac/PC ads don't tell you of course is that Macs are generally much pricier than PCs. I think Dell makes a good, inexpensive laptop. You should also look at your college's website as many schools have arrangements with manufacturers to give discounts to the students.
