Answer
You probably won't find the free versions and compatible products to your liking if you'll be spending that much time making presentations. For the record...

Microsoft offers students a huge discount. You can purchase the real Microsoft Office from Microsoft for about $79 US for a registered student with a .edu email address at an approved university or college:
http://www.microsoft.com/student/

Microsoft offers a free version of Microsoft Office. You don't have to pay for Office unless you want additional features. The free version from Microsoft is here:
http://www.skydrive.com/

Facebook has free Office applications at:
http://www.docs.com/

IBM offers Lotus Symphony (more up to date than OpenOffice IMHO)
IBM Lotus Symphony: http://symphony.lotus.com/software/lotus/symphony/home.nsf/home (Mac & PC)

The plain OpenOffice download is really for developers. If you're thinking about OpenOffice, instead think about these better, free, enhanced open source versions of OpenOffice. These are both OpenOffice, but they have additional features such as templates, also free:
Oxygen Office: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ooop/ (Windows.)
NeoOffice: http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/down⦠(Mac.)

For a limited time free trial of the full version:
(Microsoft Office 2010 for Windows)
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/

Conclusion: If you're going to be doing a lot of work in Powerpoint, buy the latest version (2010 for Windows, 2011 for Mac). You can find it at many stores, web sites, etc.

What is the cost of tuition and housing at Sacred Heart University?

Answer
Hockey:

Oddly, the Sacred Heart website hasn't updated its Cost of Attendance information since the 2008-2009 school year - given that we're about to enter 2010-2011, they're now almost 2 years behind. You'll have to check with the school for that latest information.

In 2008-2009, Sacred Heart estimated Cost of Attendance at $28,990 for tuition and fees, which includes registration for up to 18 credit hours per semester AND a laptop computer, provided by the school.

On campus housing was estimated at $8860 per year, and the school offered 3 meal plans, with the most popular plan coming in at $2748.

The school estimates that books will cost between $750 and $1250 a year, and suggested that students budget about $1000-1500 a year for spending money.

All together, that's about $43,000 a year, and remember, this was 2 years ago. Numbers like those would rank Sacred Heart pretty high amongst some of the nation's more expensive schools, but not all so out of the ordinary for private schools of this nature.

You can find that info here: http://www.sacredheart.edu/download/2707_insert_sfaa_guide_2_09.pdf

Good luck!
