What kind of bag should a male student carry in college!?

I am a guy starting college this fall should I carry a back pack, messenger bag, laptop bag... etc. I was planning to buy my college official back pack or carry my messenger bag. Also what brand of bag should I buy to fit in with rest of the students. In high school I carry brands like jansport, armani exchange and emporio armani.

Dude you can take a plastic shopping bag for all that matters. Nobody cares on a college campus. Most use backpacks because books and such can be heavy and it's easier to put the load on your back than carry with your arms. You may even think about a wheeled type of carrier if you have unusually long walks to make.

I have an awesome backpack that I've had for 10 years but it's bright pink. What types of bags do grad students usually carry? I don't really care for laptop bags or messengers bags. I'd prefer a backpack, but want to look professional as well.

Grad students carry whatever works for them, and that frequently involves keeping things that maybe they wouldn't buy now but that don't really need to be replaced, because many grad students are trying not to spend too much money. Keep the pink backpack. If, at some point down the road, you decide that you'd rather not be carrying a bright pink backpack, you can replace it with exactly what you'd rather carry instead of what you think now you might want to carry at some point in the future. Otherwise, save your money so that when you get started on your job search you can buy a new backpack that looks professional and is likely to last you awhile.
