What are my chances of getting into University of Chicago Early Action, Stanford Regular Decision, and Columbia Early Decision
I have a 4.2 unweighted GPA
My SAT Scores:
690 Reading Comprehension
720 Math
800 Writing

Answer
Wow! Impressive. I'm a bit confused about how your unweighted GPA could be 4.2 when the maximum on the 4.0 scale is 4.0, but I'm guessing that was a typo.

You *should* be able to get into the University of Chicago Early Action if you have strong letters of recommendations and write outstanding application essays. It's an excellent, extremely competitive university, though, so you'll definitely need to have some "safety schools" lined up to apply to regular decision if necessary. It's not possible to apply to Columbia and Chicago Early Action / Decision; you have to choose one or the other. Both universities, along with many others, have policies prohibiting early decision / early action applicants from applying to any other private university under their early action / early decision program. You can apply to as many colleges as you'd like during the regular decision round, but you can only apply to one private university early. The exclusion usually does not apply to public universities, so you would be permitted to apply to Chicago *or* Columbia early *and* to a state university.

Good luck!
