best laptop to buy for college student image

Hello I am a college student and I have been saving up for an excellent long lasting laptop. What are some laptops that have long-lasting charge, and do not need to be maintained very often? Also can someone explain the most important properties of a laptop like speed (GB). Also I am into photography and music, and film. I had a Toshiba before and it broke down. My budget is $1000 dollars and below. I am also into small durable laptops (lightweight)... I hate bulky and heavy laptops! Any advice?

Okay fitting your likes, the mac book pro and air mac are excellent. But if you want something cheaper go and search on bestbuy.com and find the few you like. Then go to additional features and see the ghZ (the speed) (you want 2.5 and WAYYYYY higher). And the memory want more than 500. But if ever you run out go to best buy and ask for a 1tearbyte hard drive. (More space ^_^) Hope this answers you question and REMEMBER EVERYone is different

What is the best laptop for a college student?

I am on a budget (go figure a college student who is poor lol), but I need a new laptop and I know absolutely nothing about computers! What would yall suggest for the best performance and price??

We did a lot of internet searching and reading reviews to pick our daughters computer, on a budget and get what you pay for.
We got her a Lenovo. It has a smudge proof outer shell (not so important but nice feature), fingerprint security (use your finger to be able to access the computer) and also face recognition security too. It also has a webcam and microphone (because you need to Skype your family and do free videochats with your old friends and family while in college).
So we ended up finding a review where they compare all the laptops and grade them on the laptop and the service from the company and we chose the Lenova. My daughter loves it and she even had to call them for something and they were super helpful to her and nice.
