What are some good yearbook themes for 2010?

yummysoy

The year is coming to an end, and our high school yearbook is planning for next year. What are some good themes for the year 2010?

Answer
My high school has never done an attractive yearbook. They tend to go towards themes that are too simple, for example 'black and white' that have no interesting theme that they can carry through the book. This is an instant recipe for dull.
However, my best friend's high school had a great theme. They did the whole book to look like a laptop. The cover itself looked like the top and bottom (complete with hyper realistic vents drawn onto the bottom) and then each page looked like a web page or a file, or 'my documents'. Even though it was a simple printed theme, it looked very real and very cool. When I first saw it I was blown away. I though that she had gotten a real laptop.
The school that she goes to is super low budget dirt poor. 70% of the students are below poverty rate, so it can be done at any school.
This isn't necessarily that you should do but it's a great example. The theme doesn't have to be something hyper-reminiscent and sappy like 'memories' that will have no real design to tie throughout the book. The yearbook design at my friend's school was also explained in that we are the first generation that is wired to technology all the time, without blinking an eye. The fact that the book looked like technology was just a little reminder of what we started in our time in high school.
Think out of the box! It's bound to be something super exciting if you do.

Going to purchase this laptop. Total is $644.44. Yes or no?

For me the only down side is "No Internal DVD or CD Drive" but I really don't need it. I'm going to use this for school
I would only use Microsoft Word. As for the internet: FB and Y! Answers, aside from school research. I already have a desktop btw

Answer
Sounds fine. If you're using this for school it should be adequate.
But, think: Will I be using this computer out of school, or not for schoolwork, even just a bit?
Because - if you decided to download some games, like say random MMOs, MMORPGs, RPGs or Minecraft, Sims 3 etc. this system may not be up to running those types of graphics.
I noticed in particular you mentioned no dedicated graphics, which mean they will be slow, of low quality and probably not great.
Quote from http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-7500G.74861.0.html:
"It is the slowest version at launch and integrated in the ULV-A6 variants"

"...I was a little concerned about the potential battery life on this laptop, as AMD systems have traditionally not been as strong in this area as their Intel counterparts."*

But on the upside, some nice quotes about this laptop:

"...this latest generation of A-series CPUs seems to have made some improvements in this area. The HP Envy 6-1010us ran for 5 hours and 41 minutes on our video playback battery drain test, which is very impressive for a 15-inch midsize laptop."*

"...best described as a pleasant surprise. Would it be a great $899 laptop? Not really, but for $599, it's a great midsize laptop for those willing to trade a little performance for some sharp looks."*

"...this laptop, despite the slower processor, is perfectly fine..."*

"[In comparison to the Envy system to better computers,] ...The fact is, most laptops are very overpowered, considering the relatively simple things we ask them to do."*

"...Fine for casual gaming, but you'll have to keep the settings turned down for most current A-list games."*

"The AMD Radeon HD 7500G isn't the same as getting a high-end discrete Nvidia (or even AMD) card, but it's better than traditional integrated graphics."*

Well, in the end, the decision is yours! And really, $650 is a steal - but, I suggest you shop around, because the Envy has mostly been praised on looks, not performance - and you may be able to do better!
Regards and good luck
