Tablet pc or laptop for engg college? _____?

cat d

well i am goin to a college in usa ....and am doing i dunno most probably electronic engg or so....well i have a desktop pc at home now i wanted to ask was that:
shuld i go for laptop or tablet pc money no constraint for me -:)

Answer
As a TabletPC user for many years I highly recommend them. especially for students.

In many science and engineering studies hand written notes are the only way to record some info, like equations or relationship diagrams. You can't do that with a laptop.

If you go with the TabletPC look at these 2 apps as they are excellent for note taking:

Microsoft OneNote:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/onenot...
It's not free, but student discounts make it quite inexpensive.

Microsoft Research Inkseine (beta)
http://research.microsoft.com/InkSeine/i...
This is a free app from MS's Research division. It's not quite as good at setting up a "notebook" style folder system, but has some excellent features since it is built for TPC's exclusively.

i m student and want to buy laptop?

i m a student of first year of engg want to buy a laptop with good specification with min budget can any one tell me which one is good

Answer
Well if you are really an engineering student you might just want to start practicing your craft with a good set of anticipated usage scenarios and a budget range becuase your specs plain suck in this question.

But that doesn't stop everyone from answering with their favorite brand name. Let me see if I understand -- every single model made by Toshiba is excellent regardless of the components inside?

And does that mean that even the very worst of these super uber excellent Toshibas must be better than any laptop made by any other manufacturer?

We can assume that you can't see the absurdity of your answer because you actually posted it, but lets get specific and find the best Toshiba ever made and compare it with any Alienware model. Go look at the Alienwares. Now tell me any Toshiba is better...

To get specific on answering the question her is the part of your sentence that reads "laptop with good specification"

1. any dual core CPU
2. any dedictated graphics chip such as ATI 3650 or NVidia 8600
3. any 7200 rpm hard drive
4. 4 gigs of RAM
5. any brand at all that gives you that list of items!

Now here's the part of your question that says "min budget"

Go to notebookreview.com and click on the "Dell Coupons" link. Try to find a coupon that gives you a Dell with the above specs that is in your budget.
