I'm about to start college soon and I'm looking to buy a laptop. Tons of people I know are starting to buy Macbook Pros and they seem like a very solid laptop, especially since they should be because of the price. I look at the most expensive windows laptops and they seem to have more memory, a better processor, and a bigger screen for about $500 less. I want to use my laptop for school, everyday use, and maybe even some mild gaming.

In the end the question is: Are you going to be intelligent or be a follower?

Its your choice my friend. Today, in the present, we see so many people choosing to be followers and not have a care in the world to educate themselves so that they can make better choices.

Macintosh computer have always been last and second best to PC's. Not just in this day and age, but since the beginning.

If you buy a Macbook you will be GREATLY limited in what you can do. When you buy a PC this will not be the case. Corporate greed on Mac/Apples side has made the decision to do this and limit its customers because they want you to only use their software and their hardware and so SO so much more than just that. If you are a person who likes your freedom don't buy into slavery. Don't be ignorant and pay that ridiculous price that they charge for what in my opinion is not a "real computer". It is not a computer because you can not do all you should be able to do.

So what they did was make it a trendy thing to own a mac. If you make it a fashion statement then you have a good marketing strategy, and that is just what Mac did.

I actually just bought a laptop after over 10 days of looking and found a pretty cool deal for a very powerful computer. Great for a student, heck, at this price and with this power it's great for anything. At this point I couldnât be any happier with my new laptop. Thereâs a seller on Amazon called "Electronic Mind" that is selling some really powerful Acer Aspires way below retail value and has the lowest price on Amazon all together.

Here is the link:

I donât know how they can sell them so cheap but I have had mine now for 2 weeks and I am very happy with my choice. Iâm playing some awesome games such as Fall Out New Vegas, Black OPâs and other cool games. Best of all all of the games play really smooth. I use this for my college classes and work as well in addition to audio engineering programs.

With Acer Aspire you canât go wrong. The laptop is wicked, I am running very strenuous programs on it such as music production software and hardcore games and it can take anything I throw at it.

Take my advice, for what you need and in addition for what you want to do such as gaming ect........ Get one of these, you will not regret it!!!!

Oh yeah, I just wanted to add that:

Chels who also answered this question on here is an idiot who only believe things they hear such as roomers and gossip. Mac can easily get a virus. As a matter of fact many new virus are being written now for the Mac platform. What freaking world do you think were living on here Chels? I for one have never gotten a virus on a PC and many others will tell you the same thing. With a good antuvirus program you will NEVER get a virus.

What would you think if you saw someone with a Toshiba laptop?

Okay so I'm a new college student and like all new college students, it's time tin invest in a laptop. I'm using my left over financial aid which is roughly about $600. So I was planning on hopefully getting a nice hp with windows 7 because that's what our desktop is and I LOVE it. But now my dad this Toshiba kick which I'm really not all that thrilled about. So, is a Toshiba just as cool looking as an Hp or Dell? Which would you prefer?

Answer
A computer is a tool to do work. I would think that the specs of a computer and if it suits what you need it to do is far more important than how it looks which contributes nothing to its usefulness. It may well be that the "guts" of a Toshiba contains the same (or better) components as a Dell or HP (or even an Acer or other brand) at that price point.

People who have no idea what a computer has inside or how it works are left to compare how it looks which is not important at all. You need to see what you get for your money(processor speed, RAM capacity, wireless support, hard disk capacity. All those components are not made by Toshiba, HP or Dell etc. Those companies just assemble and market them.
