What is the use of a laptop/notebook to an engineering student?
I mean now that I am supposed to buy one for college(B.Tech in Software Engineering), what features should I look for in terms of processor,RAM,hard disk capacity?
Will Intel Atom be sufficient for my needs?
Please give suggestions for the apt configuration (RAM,graphic card,hard disk,processor ,battery life etc)

if you are doing engineering, you may need to use high end software like autoCAD and other design programs. a netbook will not suffice. get something powerful. minimum 2GHz cpu dual core, 4 gb ram, 512 Mb video card. i'd recommend a 500 GB HD or bigger.

Im a freshman college student from the Philippines. Im in a strict budget right now and badly needs to buy a laptop for my studies. Im reffering to LAPTOP and not NOTEBOOK. can anyone help me to find a great one that fits my budget but a high quality one? Maybe a brace of 14,000 pesos and below. Thanks a lot.
