Im looking at this laptop for my mum who is going back to college, it would only be needed for research on the internet and typing up word documents and other college work just looking for opinions, oh and I dont want Microsoft Office on it as we want to buy it seperate:)

Seems to be a UK close-out model, and most people are dissatisfied with the E or C series CPUs especially in using it in a laptop (or desktop) rather than a netbook because the performance is very weak and laptops with better CPUs don't cost any more money, or might be slightly higher. Most of the very low priced laptops are fairly low in quality and similar to each other. I think Samsung and Asus normally use gigabit ethernet as fairly standard for hard-wired (cable connected) downloading.
The biggest complaint is "very slow"

College Student Laptop?

I am a college student so i need a reliable laptop. I HATE dell, they gave me a lemon. I plan on having a big music library, using skype, writing papers, doing school work, burning CDs and just getting on facebook. My budget is 700. What would y'all recomend?

Hello, well first of all is it 700 dollars or 700 pounds;
If it so happens to be pounds then i would definitely get an apple macbook, great laptops, and perfect for what you're wanting it for. All that great technology comes at a price at £799, but for only £99 extra i would say go for it.
