14" or 15.6" laptop for college?

nkp20

So, I narrowed down which laptop I want..the question is if I should get the 14" or the 15.6" version, both have identical hardware but the 14" is $60 more. Do you think a 15.6" will be too big for commuting to school with? The difference in weight is 5.22 lbs vs 4.51 lbs plus the size difference. What do you guys think?

Answer
That's a no brainer.. Go with the 15.6" for two reasons.
1) You will love how big the screen is. It's not TOO big so transporting it from place to place, class to class is not a problem at all.
2) It's 60 bucks cheaper than the 14". More bang for less buck. I'd definitely go with the 15.6. I carry my 15.6" laptop to college and work in a backpack. It's no hassle at all.

otherwise you could look at the inspiron 1420 ( alittle cheaper)

both of these laptops have dedicated graphics cards which is a plus (the xps has a better one) because these laptops were able to have dedicated graphics card is why i picked them

you can look around on different sites and se what you like... and what is in your price range, if you dont want to go to 1200 you can get a good laptop for 700-800. if think you found something you can post the specs and i am sure people will give their opinions on it.

best of luck
