The school provides a laptop, but i am not going to get it because it is even more expensive than these with inferior specs

Answer
@ G-Rat: I agree. He can get the equivalent for less money. But if reliability is a prime concern for him, HP is a terrible choice. HP laptops have the worst reliability record of all major brands over the last 2 years or so. The most reliable brands have been Asus, Toshiba, and Sony Vaio.

@ Melissa: Yes, because it is all about being a fashion statement, lol. Gimme a break. And for your information, Acer is the third worst brand when it comes to reliability.

Best laptop under 750?

Mike

What is the best laptop under 750 for a student entering college. I plan on using the laptop mostly for school work, internet, music, and light gaming(old FPS).

Answer
If reliability is a factor, look for something from Asus, Toshiba, or Sony Vaio. Avoid HP, Gateway, and Acer.

A refurbed Macbook as mentioned in the post above mine would be a good choice also, if you are a Mac fan. Very reliable laptops.
