I start college in September 2012. I am trying to figure out the electronics I will need to purchase ahead of time, I will be majoring in Culinary Management and I want a laptop that will last and is made to use on a daily basis without wearing out easily.

Ok in all honesty, all these people are fucktards. Some Macs are good, I will give them that, but you can get a just as good or even better computer for half the prce of a Mac. Just the build needs to be good. God I hate people who think ALL Macs are good just because they are Macs. You need to focus more on the specs, not the brand that you get it from.

The title says it all. I need a laptop for college and I don't know which one to get. I wanted a MacbookPro at first but I can't afford one. My main question is do I need an i5 or an i7 processor or am I good with the i3? I will be using this to search the internet, write papers, and maybe some videos and music.
