Is a Macbook Air good for gaming?

Q. I got a laptop for college. The macbook air. It's the newest model and its specs are:
Processor: 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB
I know it probably can't do super poweful games like Battlefield, but can it do some not graphically powerful Steam games?

Idk about a macbook but a really good gaming laptop/desktop is alienware. Sure there expensive as hell but there worth it

I am a sophomore in college pursuing a degree in film and I have an old PC currently. It is time to get a new laptop and while I am aware that Macbook pro is a superior laptop, I don't have the money for that! Is the Macbook air a good alternative or is it not compatible for film?
