Any advice for a college freshman that is going to do the pre med track, and unsure of the major.
-What classes should I take???I am thinking of majoring in psych, but I also love Physics so I might minor in that.
-What things should I bring with me to the dorms???
-should I bring a laptop or a net-book??
-any other advice?????

Answer
Here's the med school prerequisite classes for college.

people usually major in biology or chemistry because those majors satisfies the prerequisiites. but you can apply to medical school under any major, as longas you take those required classes.

first year is usually bio and chem
second year is organic chemistry
third year is general phsyics
spring of third year you take the MCATs
fourth year you apply!

What is the best laptop computer for a college student?

I'm going away to college next year, and the monetary gifts I get at my open house will go towards a laptop for me.
I've been looking at a little bit of everything, and I just can't decide what's best. Right now, I'm looking at Mac Books, but I'm open to anything. Assuming that money isn't a real huge issue and I don't do any hard-core gaming, which laptop would best suit an incoming college freshman?

Answer
get an Asus laptop. they have the lowest failure rate of any laptop and great software that comes included. Macbooks are a rip off--its really just looking cool and the glowing apple you pay for.
look for the following in the laptop:
Intel core processor i5 (moderate speed (great for all tasks except hardcore gaming) i7 is for gaming
at lest 4gb memory -- try to go for 6 ( has to do with speed)
go for a 500 GB hard drive. ample room for all your files
lol don't get a Mac its all marketing. for 1,500 same ass Mac-- you could get a top of the line Asus with i7, 12 gb memory and 1000gb hard drive. get an Asus they are the best -- I have owned three with no problems (sold the last 2)
