What laptops would be good for me?

My main focus is for college work and some audio recording. I have no clue what type of laptop would be best for that

No help in picking a specific laptop, but help in picking a brand:
Avoid HP/Compaq, Gateway, and Acer. They have had the worst record
for reliability for the last 2+ years. Asus, Toshiba, and Sony Vaio

getting a new laptop.. i have an hp and its fine, but im thinking maybe a Vaio or something different? Which brand is the best? I'd use it mostly for college and facebook & such.

If reliability is one of your main criteria, so for an Asus, Toshiba, or Sony Vaio. They have been the most reliable for the last couple of years. Avoid HP, Gateway, and Acer.
