I am moving away to college and Im looking for a computer. I am a very accdient proon person. (that can't spell without spell check). What is a good, laptop for a college freshmen? I was looking at the ToughBooks.

If you're looking to see what's out there, I'd recommend you check out this new application called âLaptop Scout,â which is designed to help people find a computer that best fits their needs and specifications. You just go there and enter what kind of things youâre looking for in a laptop (or just what you want to use the laptop for) and itâll provide you with a list of potential PCs that might match your specifications. There's not a setting for "accident prone," but you can organize the search by size, speed, and price. Some of the reviews do mention warranty info, though, so you might want to look into that! : )

What kind of laptop to get for college freshman?

Q. I'm wondering what kind of laptop is good for a college freshman? I'd prefer PC, not Mac. And I'm not going into a business major, I know sometimes they need specific types of computers to support their programs, but that's not the cases for me. I'm going into environmental engineering.
I'm looking for specific brands and such to look for

Get the cheapest machine you can get from a major manufacturer with the following stats. Core 2 duo, 2GB of RAM, 120GB HD (5400 RPM) and don't get steered into a machine w/a dedicated graphics card - they give you a lot of power you may not need but will add to the price, weight, size, heat and power consumption.
