What is the best laptop for a college student?

I am a Junior in college, and i have a desktop, but i transferred schools this year, and i have decided to work full time and go to class full time. My classes are all online. Any suggestions? Oh and i get a discount thru my school with Dell.

look at the Dell for a good price. I had the sony vaio notebook for grad school and I've had it 4 years and not one problem. My friends did have problems with Dell...

What kind of present should I get my wife for her college graduation?

Not only is she graduating from college, but we live in different states because I'm in the military. So she will now be able to move to where I'm stationed at.

How about a nice laptop/notebook loaded w/some software (possibly programs that might have to do w/what she will do for work; Excel, Pulisher, acct'ing software...whatever). And maybe "skype" or other simliar equip. for when you are either deployed/on duty. Or something she might need for her future job. Or, if she is the more the sentimental type, a nice piece of jewelry. She isn't the typical single, college grad, so it's ok to, think outside the box.
