I don't want a Mac, but what other brands are good for a high school student to buy? My max price would probably be $1000.

This is the most decent choice because amongst new arrivals the hp and sony have a very bad makeup thus the only choice which remains is asus

I am a high school student and I am in the market for my first laptop! My price range is anywhere from 400 - 600 Dollars. What would you suggest for me?

I got a Dell Inspiron 1525 for my 16 year old daughter. It is a 15" and she loves it. She has tons of music, video, photos and (hopefully) school work with Microsoft Office 2007 and the OS Vista. I paid $435.00 for it a few months ago. Good Luck. Peace:)
