My wife and I each bought a Toshiba Satellite from Best Buy because we read in consumer reports that Toshiba had the lowest repair rate. We have both been very satisfied. I would buy Toshiba again.

I'm not a gamer, I don't use photoshop or any special programs. I just want a computer that is good at multitasking (listening to music, having multiple tabs open in my browser) and for general use like Microsoft Word. Thanks.

It look like a good BASIC laptop. Not a bunch of frills, will probably to a basic job well. Asus never quite makes it into the Consumer Reports Recommended category, but it it would be a decent quality student notebook.
