Hi guys, I'm looking into buying a good laptop for no more than 1,200$ I might be able to go to 1,400 but that's only if the laptop is AMAZING. The only laptop that i was strongly considering is the HP DV6tQE Which has a Quad core i7 processor with 3.2 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB Hard Drive, Blu Ray Disc, Beats Audio, 1920x1080p Display, 1 GB 5770 Graphics card, and this machine was ONLY 1,100$, but unfortunately it had some Graphics card Switchable graphics memory issues. See: http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shoppiâ¦

So...I basically need this computer for College. I'm an electrical engineering student starting Fall of 2011 at CSULA. And I'll probably be playing some games on the PC. I really want something that will STILL be very good in 4 years, and not get outdated in a single year.

I would prefer a laptop that has i7, 8GB RAM, Blu Ray, 1920x1080p Display.

If you guys could help me in finding the perfect machine, i would GREATLY appreciate it.

Thanks SOOO MUCH!

Answer
i find this one, it is also a HP laptop, this Envy 17.3" 3D Laptop has Intel's i7 processor, a 1GB graphics card, and 6GB of RAM ,so it is incredibly fast and capable of running any program. It also has a blu-ray drive and comes with Photoshop Elements pre-installed.This is an elite choice for gamers or designers as the large screen is 3D-capable,you will like it,btw, the price is $1200 with free shipping at this site, you can have a look first, then make your decision:

Answer
HP is an awesome brand, so I'd prob recommend the HP - ENVY Laptop. Intel® Core⢠i5 Processor / 14.5" Display / 6GB Memory / 750GB Hard Drive - Black. It just looks so awesome, and it's great for gaming. You can store so many files because it has 750GB Hard Drive just like the laptop you like. You can find more info about it on youtube or on the bestbuy site.

i am an engineering student and am planning to buy a laptop this month! my requirements are a good battery life, good graphic memory (for medium level graphics in games), decent RAM, and a quick processor.. i shortlisted Dell, HP, Vaio but any other recommendations are also acceptable...only serious replies please.. :)

Answer
In dollars your price range is roughly $700-$1000.

A good way to decide which laptop you should buy is by looking at the best selling laptops list, because that tells you what most people are deciding to buy right now. The most sold PC laptop for the range of money you are willing to spend is the Toshiba Portege R835, which has a LED screen, 4GB of RAM (you won't have any memory problems), and a battery for 8 hours.

It comes with Windows 7, which is the best operative system at this moment, and its price is nearly 800 dollars.

Take a look here to see a list of the best selling laptops in Amazon.com:

Good luck!

Answer
Macbook pro is the best choice if you need a fast and reliable laptop. It has a faster processor, long lasting battery, higher resolution, awesome video quality, video editing and many other extra features. Nobody can compete Macbook Pro in its classy look and unique performance. It's the best.
